Designer Nika Zupanc

Nika Zupanc breathes new life into tradition, infusing her designs with her signature femininity and dose of drama, seamlessly blending echoes of emotion with unexpected forms and material juxtapositions.

Born in 1974 in Ljubljana, Slovenia, she honed her craft at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design, graduating with honours in 2000. In 2008, she established her eponymous studio, where she has since worked as a product and interior designer, forging exclusive collaborations with esteemed international design brands to leave an indelible mark on the world of aesthetics.

Nika Zupanc's design ethos is a delightful paradox. She fearlessly challenges conventions while remaining faithful to familiar forms. At the core of her design philosophy lies the quest for an icon—an identifiable shape, colour or material reimagined into tangible objects with poetic sentiment. The Petalii Collection for Nuura is a prime example of this philosophy, offering timeless and elegant lighting solutions that defy expectations, spark emotions and break the boundaries of conventional design.
